Bridgwater was once the ‘Hong Kong’ of Somerset, a major trading port. This has influenced its development since it was granted a town charter in 1200 by King John. On the 800th anniversary of this signing, I was asked to produce a body of work to commemorate this occasion. The resulting pictures were put into a book along with accompanying text and poems by James Crowden.
