There will be an exhibition of the findings of the archeological teams that have been working on the land due for development for the new Hinkley Point Power stations in West Somerset. I have been lucky enough to have been involved from the start of the project, photographing the landscape before the development and documenting the changes. Many interesting historical remains have been found. Just walking around in one of the fields our county Archeologist bent down and picked up a piece of Roman roof tile – he denied that he had just found it in his pocket!! It would seem that for the same reasons that we are now developing this site, so it has been a scene of human activity for millennia. This promised to be a fascinating show and will tell us more about the distant past of our county.
