Pauline Rook is an an award winning professionally qualified photographer, living and working in Somerset. She specialises in black and white and colour photography of children and families but is also well known for her rural documentary work. Somerset photographer Pauline, has nursed a life long passion for photography. She has brought up four children and helped her husband to run a large dairy farm for many years. The many threads of her life have been brought together and expressed through her photographic work.
Her work as a rural documentary photographer, has been recognised with several major commissions from amongst others The Countryside Agency and the Year of the Artist. She works successfully as a Portrait photographer in Somerset, preferring to use the wealth of locations available locally to bring a fresh and original approach to each commission. Professionally qualified with both the Master Photographers Association (MPA) and the British Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP) Pauline has won 'Under 5's Child Photographer' 'Monochrome' and ' Family Photographer' awards for her work within the region. She is increasingly well known for her work as a contemporary photographer of children with her relaxed style and artistic approach.
An Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), her photographs have been exhibited widely across the South West and have featured in numerous local and national magazines.
She has had two books published illustrating much of her photographic work in collaboration with poet and author James Crowden
