Pauline has a photographic studio in Lopen, Somerset to give clients the convenience and flexibility that a studio portraiture brings.

Studio sessions are planned with the client to give an original and special feel to the resulting photographs.   Pauline much prefers to work in the contemporary relaxed style that produces informal photographs that reflect our closer family relationships nowadays.

.

Photo sessions in the studio rarely last for as long as an hour.

What to wear for a studio portrait?  The most important thing is to wear something that you are comfortable in and something that you would like to be seen in!  However, simple clothes work the best.  Avoid if possible spots, stripes and logos as these can be distracting in the final image.  Wear matching or complementary colours and tones.  for black and white photography avoid middle tones such as pinks or pale colours - these just go grey and rather uninteresting.  When choosing trousers or skirts for a group photograph, try to coordinate these, all black or all denim work very well.  Most studio portraits are taken with bare feet and so shoes are not important.

A selection of prints are produced for the client to preview in the studio or online and choose their final images.  A great variety of top quality photographic products are avaiable now from the ever popular canvas wraps to bevel prints as well as more conventional mounting and framing. There are examples of many of these in Pauline's studio.

Studio shoots are from £35. Print prices depend on size and finish. A large photograph (12" x 16") framed in a simple black frame is in the region of £135 whilst budget collections of unframed prints help to keep sessions affordable.
