This portfolio of Somerset portrait photographs was compiled with the help of a The Year of the Artist award. It set out to pay tribute to some of the many women whose ordinary working lives show a dedication and skill that often goes unnoticed.

These portrait  photographs are accompanied by written verbatim statements taken down by local poet and author James Crowden. The exhibition of this work attracted a great deal of interest and with support from the County Museums a successful grant application was made to support their publication.
