Somerset Arts Weeks came and went in a flash it seems, the weather was good and the event well supported. I realised, after explaining very many times about infra red photography , that the high sun in Africa was ideally suited to this type of photography. Back home in England out in the countryside everything was green and so the infra red images became far too white to be interesting. Now that the leaves have fallen off the trees and the grass is less green the landscape becomes more interesting for infra red photography. Skies and bare trees are ideal. would prefer a few elephants thrown into the mix but hey ho can’t have everything.
Today’s rather windy walk was up to Thorncombe Beacon , the stunted thorn trees were exciting but not much in the way of clouds today. Fabulous views but as we photographers know, a view doesn’t make a landscape photograph .
